A classic comic tragedy by Eugène Ionesco about the seemingly futile, yet utterly pointless search for meaning - not just in life.
Ionesco's The Chairs exemplifies absurdist drama in the spirit of Beckett's Waiting for Godot: two people in a desolate place at an unspecified time wait for guests who never arrive - or do they? Invisible visitors gradually take their seats on arranged chairs, and conversations revolve around unfulfilled dreams, the sorrows and joys of life.
Starring Eva Novotná and Michal Kern.
