E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

A spacecraft carrying extraterrestrials lands near Los Angeles. The strange creatures scatter to collect samples from the surrounding area, but one of them becomes enchanted by the city lights and misses the ship's departure, stranding itself on Earth. The alien finds shelter in a shed near a house, where it is discovered by ten-year-old Elliott. Together with his siblings, they become friends and name the creature E.T.
