A classic play by Nikolai Gogol about corruption and power in a small Russian provincial town, which remains surprisingly relevant today.

About: Nikolai Gogol

Gogol's plays and prose rank among the most frequently staged classics in world theatre - The Government Inspector and Dead Souls have been in continuous production since the 19th century, their satirical portrait of corruption and human pettiness as sharp as ever. Born in Ukraine and writing in Russian, he created a grotesque comic vision that reaches far beyond any single national tradition.
