150–750 CZK · ≈ 6–31 €
A festival of stories, courage, and life in North Korea, curated by writer and Korea scholar Nina Špitálníková
The multimedia festival Life Behind the Wall: North Korea is created under the direction of writer and Korea scholar Nina Špitálníková, who has long documented testimonies of people who fled totalitarianism. The organizers describe it as the largest event about North Korea and North Korean refugees in the Czech Republic and across Europe.
The main immersive installation spans 1,500 m² in Hall 13 of the Prague Market Hall. Architect Barbara Bencová shapes the festival's visual identity, while portraits of North Koreans who escaped totalitarianism are complemented by Tim Franco, author of the award-winning series Unperson. The exhibition is further enriched by illustrations by Dana Lédl (Myokard).
At the heart of the event are authentic testimonies from North Koreans. The festival is designed as intergenerational and includes a children's zone called Tota Flies, which introduces younger visitors to the value of freedom through playful activities.
VIP tickets can be purchased here.
