Exhibition on the Netolice Game Reserve in the Castle Tower
Kratochvíle, Netolice
The exhibition on the Netolice Game Reserve takes place in the entrance tower of Kratochvíle Castle from April 6 to November 1, 2026, daily from 9:00 to 15:30. It is a living exhibition that is continuously updated throughout the season. Visitors will learn what the Netolice Game Reserve is, what its size was, what animals lived there, and where the Krčínka canal flowed. The exhibition presents the history and current state of the reserve – you will meet the animals that inhabited it and view photographs by Ivan Janota. You will also see the faces of the reserve's founders: Vilém of Rožmberk and Jakub Krčín of Jelčany and Sedlčany. The size of the reserve and its boundaries can be seen on historical maps and through a 3D model. The 16th-century Netolice Game Reserve is a uniquely preserved historical South Bohemian landscape with over 30 ponds and a technical monument – the artificial Krčínka canal, approximately 8 km long. The exhibition also serves as inspiration to visit the reserve itself in the Netolice area.
