The Czech Philharmonic brings Smetana's Má vlast to České Budějovice on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, in an unconventional staging that merges orchestral music with puppetry, dance, and circus elements. The performance takes place at Letní kino Háječek, an open-air cultural venue set in a park in the city center. The setting offers a distinctive backdrop for classical music - audiences can enjoy the concert under the night sky, and the complex includes a bistro with refreshments. This is one of six Czech dates for the Czech Philharmonic, which returns primarily to Prague throughout the summer and autumn. The live theatrical interpretation by the Czech Philharmonic and the Forman ensemble reimagines the celebrated composition.
