The Secret of Cinderella's Slipper at Švihov Castle

The exhibition tour "The Secret of Cinderella's Slipper" was created in 2019 at Švihov Castle and is dedicated to the famous film "Three Nuts for Cinderella", which was filmed here in 1973. The exhibition is located on four floors of the White Tower, accessed by a separate entrance directly from the large castle courtyard. The tour is self-guided — there is no formal commentary, but rather a companion experience. Each floor is thematically devoted to a different part of the fairy tale: you will see Vincek with his magical nuts, Cinderella by the stream, Cinderella in the cottage with the owl Rozarka, a scene from the archery competition, the kitchen with the clumsy cook, the scene of sorting peas from ashes, the royal ball, and the final scene with the slipper and ring. The exhibition also features photographs from the filming, film clips, the original screenplay manuscript, and behind-the-scenes information about the filmmakers. Part of the exhibition is designed for children, who can complete tasks and riddles with the owl Rozarka and borrow costumes for free. Visits outside the scheduled times are possible by telephone reservation for groups of at least 10 people.
