Bitter Holidays

Enchanting Elsa arrives in 2004 on sunny Lanzarote to escape a life crisis and seek a fresh start. It is a story written by an aging acclaimed director named Raúl - but the events and characters suspiciously resemble the fates of his loved ones. They begin to recognize themselves in the film and ask uncomfortable questions: where does inspiration end and privacy begin?

With this film, Pedro Almodóvar returned to the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
