Karel Gott (1939–2019) was a Czech pop singer widely known as the "Golden Voice of Prague". He was one of the most celebrated performers in Czech popular music history, winning the Zlatý slavík (Golden Nightingale) award a record number of times. He was also well known internationally, particularly in German-speaking countries.

He wrote music for many of Gott's hits and regularly conducted the orchestra at his performances. He is one of the key figures of Czech popular music from the second half of the 20th century.
