CAMP Point: Jiřího z Poděbrad Square
Jiří z Poděbrad Square, Prague
Over 180 trees, a rainwater retention basin, and a children's playground have been added to Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. The surrounding greenery is now irrigated by rainwater from the roof of Plečnik's Church. How did the overall revitalization unfold and how does the space function today - with regular farmers' markets and cultural events?
CAMP Point brings debates about Prague's transformations directly to the streets - to places where changes are happening or just beginning to take effect. At the first stop, moderator Jiří Jaroš invited architect Pavla Melková from MCA atelier studio, which oversaw the revitalization.
Schedule:
15.00-17.00 - Stop by the curators. In the "Prague Tomorrow?" map portal, they will show you what is being planned in the area, what is already being created, and what has been completed in the surroundings over the past months.
17.00-18.00 - Discussion on site at the cargo bike: moderator Jiří Jaroš and architect Pavla Melková from MCA atelier about the project, its implementation, and the journey that guided them.
18.00-19.00 - CAMP Tour: a walk through the area with explanations of connections to the surroundings and individual project details. Led by Jiří Jaroš and representatives of MCA atelier.
