Thursday Studio for Children 8–10 Years
Národní galerie, Prague
Thursday Studio for Children 8–10 Years is a regular art workshop run by the National Gallery Prague in the Trade Fair Palace. It takes place every Thursday from 15:30 to 17:00 between 5 February and 18 June 2026. The studio is an open creative space where children explore art from the National Gallery Prague's collections and beyond — a place for play, experimentation, mutual inspiration, and dialogue. Each week, participants immerse themselves in a world of art featuring diverse artistic approaches across disciplines and periods, learning about artists' ideas and personal stories. Throughout the year, children will try painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, spatial art, photography, and other traditional and experimental techniques, gradually learning to use and combine them freely. The studio is led by experienced art educator Mgr. Šárka Matoušková, who studied art education at the Faculty of Education of Charles University and book design and illustration at the Hellichova Higher Vocational School. The subscription fee includes instruction and art materials. New participants can attend the first trial lesson free of charge. Registration is through GoOut, with priority given to returning participants from the previous term. For more information: vzdelavani@ngprague.cz.
