Light Up a Book Around the World! Spain
An hour-long meeting about a contemporary book, this time in Spanish. Through interactive reading and a follow-up creative workshop, Veronika Všianská and Diana Buritica will introduce you to the book by Italian author Beatrice Alemagna titled "Berta and Me".
When a little girl scrapes her knee on the street, her father comforts her, saying she doesn't need to be afraid - a beautiful scab will form. But she is afraid! The scab isn't beautiful at all, and besides, it prevents her from bending her knee properly. Before the scab, which she names Berta, falls off on its own, something unexpected happens: the girl forms an emotional bond with it and finds it hard to say goodbye. A picture book with sensitive understanding of how children experience the world and a touch of absurd humor, following in the tradition of classic authors like Tomi Ungerer and William Steig.
The programme takes place in Czech and Spanish for children aged 4 to 8 and their parents.
