Miloslav Beneš (born 1946) comes from eastern Bohemia, and the roots of his artistic sensibility reach back to childhood, when he first tried to capture the landscape of his home in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains and discovered the magic of working with colour.

About the venue: Zábřeh Museum

Muzeum Zábřeh occupies the Renaissance house Pod Podloubím, considered one of the finest surviving examples of a burgher house in northern Moravia. The mazhaus-type building with Gothic cellars was remodelled in the second half of the 16th century, when its tower and arcade were added. Run by the Regional Museum in Šumperk, it holds a permanent exhibition on the history of the Zábřeh area, a dedicated section on local-born explorer Jan Eskymo Welzl, and collections ranging from Václav Hollar prints to folk paintings on glass.
