The closing concert of the Brno Organ Festival is dedicated to the memory of Alena Veselá, the festival's founder and patron. Every year she celebrated her birthday on July 7 at the organ, most recently her remarkable 101st birthday. This year, on what would have been her 103rd birthday, three of her most successful former students - Hana Bartošová, Helena Vodičková, and Petr Kolář - pay tribute to her memory.

The programme features works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Zdeněk Pololáník, Oreste Ravanello, Bedřich Antonín Wiedermann, and Josef Klička.

About: Petr Kolář

Born on 20 June 1967 in České Budějovice, Petr Kolář is a Czech pop-rock vocalist who established himself in the 1990s as the lead singer of Precedens and Arakain while pursuing a concurrent career in musical theatre, appearing in productions including Dracula, Hamlet and The Three Musketeers. Following the launch of his solo career after 2000, he became one of the most frequently broadcast Czech artists; his song "Ještě, že tě, lásko mám" holds the distinction of being the most-played Czech composition in Radio Blaník's entire broadcasting history. A five-time Silver Slavík award recipient and Anděl prize winner.
