Nos Dames: A French Evening of Chansons

On Friday, August 28, 2026, from 19:00, the musical ensemble Nos Dames will perform on the terrace of Bělohradská sýpka with a programme of French chansons and Francophone songs. The concert includes an introduction that will guide listeners through the stories behind each song - their composers, performers, and lyrical content.

At the heart of the project is Martina Forejtková (vocals, piano, accordion), a French language and music teacher at a gymnasium in Hradec Králové and multiple winner of international competitions in Francophone song interpretation (Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova, Czech Republic). Last year she received the Special Prize Un Grand Merci for her contribution to promoting French culture. She is joined on stage by David Jandl (vocals, introduction). Guest performers include Miriam Otčenášková (violin), a member of the Hradec Králové Philharmonic, and Robert Forejtek (tenor saxophone), a graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory.

The repertoire regularly features classics such as Édith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, and Yves Montand, as well as contemporary Francophone performers - Zaz, Wende Snijders, and Stromae. Refreshments will be available throughout the event.
