The paintings capture the ephemeral atmosphere of fictional basement spaces and the echoes of afterparty hours from early to late morning. The figures find themselves in an uncertain state of isolation and magical realism. Fragmentary scenes depict fleeting moments and spatial uncertainty.

About the venue: Sibir Gallery

Galerie Sibiř is an off-space gallery inside the independent cultural centre Sibiř in Brno's Husovice district. The building was formerly home to the Bio Sibiř cinema and theatre - it served as a cinema during the First Republic and the 1960s, and in the 1990s hosted the Divadlo In Flagranti theatre and a Czech Television dubbing studio. Since spring 2017 a group of volunteers has been running and renovating it collectively on a non-commercial basis. The gallery focuses on young artists and hosts exhibitions, lectures, and workshops.
