The Dům umění (House of Art) is a stately Art Nouveau building from 1926 that serves as the main exhibition space of the Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě. The gallery ranks among the largest fine-art collecting institutions in the Czech Republic, with holdings spanning Czech and international art from the 19th to the 21st century. Temporary exhibitions, lectures and public programmes run throughout the year.
