Concert for International Day of Older Persons

The 35th Plzeň Infantry Regiment FOLIGNO Band and guests from the musical DJKT

The FOLIGNO band of the Plzeň Infantry Regiment was founded in 2002 by Colonel (ret.) Otakar Lichtenberg and Jiří Žurek, professor at the Plzeň Conservatory, as a replacement for the then-disbanded Garrison Band. Today the band is led by Jan Šmat.

Orchestra members maintain the tradition of the 35th Plzeň Infantry Regiment FOLIGNO and its band - they perform at commemorative and festive events, participate in festivals throughout the Czech Republic and abroad, and give concerts in West Bohemian spas and in the gardens of Prague Castle. During the summer months they regularly hold promenade concerts in Plzeň's municipal parks.

Last year the band was registered in the List of Intangible Assets of Traditional Folk Culture of the Plzeň Region.
