Yamaha Oriental is a Prague-based group playing Balkan wedding, christening, disco and railway-station-restaurant music - the repertoire of Roma musicians from southern Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania.

Genre-wise it's tallava and manele, instrumentally saxophone, clarinet, tuba, trumpet, drums and quarter-tone keyboards with non-stop pitchbend. The repertoire includes compositions by Ferusse Mustafov, Boril Iliev, Amzy Tairov, Ionut Cercel, Saliho Okka and others.

Tickets: 200 CZK advance, 250 CZK at the door.

About the venue: Ponava Cafe

Ponava Cafe is a café and music club on the edge of Lužánky park in central Brno, right next to the conservatory. It offers specialty coffee, quality beer, and a varied cultural programme focused on jazz, alternative, folk, and blues. The intimate interior hosts small concerts, author readings, and exhibitions, while in summer events move outdoors. The venue organises the annual four-day Ponava Fest and also runs the online Radio Ponava.
