A. Banchieri: Barca di Venetia per Padova

The baroque musical voyage A. Banchieri: Barca di Venetia per Padova takes place on Wednesday, 9 June 2027 at Besední dům in Brno. Ensemble Silentium! presents a project at the intersection of concert and theatre, combining works by Italian masters - Frescobaldi, Monteverdi, Merula - with Spanish compositions full of humour and period caricatures. This is one of nine Czech dates on the tour. The neo-Renaissance building on Komenského náměstí, constructed in the 1870s to designs by architect Theophil von Hansen, has served as a cultural centre for over 150 years. The programme culminates in "baroque pearls" and a lively Spanish ensalada that blurs the boundary between music and theatrical performance.
