The Legend Called Bicycle
Muzeum Zábřeh, Zábřeh
The exhibition "The Legend Called Bicycle" is on display at the Zábřeh Museum from April 15 to June 21, 2026. It explores the history of cycling and the evolution of bicycles, the origins of competitive cycling, and the first cyclists. Visitors can admire high-wheelers from the era, the precursors of the modern bicycle — so-called draisines — and Michaux-type bicycles. The exhibition also features a unique bicycle designed by engineer Paul Jaray in 1921, powered by a pedal lever and steel cable. Bicycles manufactured by the Velamos company in Sobotín are also included. Accompanying texts introduce visitors to important milestones in cycling history, notable figures in Czech cycling up to 1900, and cycling clubs that operated in the region. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 12:30 to 17:00.
Opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 9:00–12:00 and 12:30–17:00.
