A memorial day dedicated to Vlastimil Harapes (24 July 1946, Chomutov - 15 May 2024, Prague) - a dancer, choreographer, teacher and actor who would have celebrated his 80th birthday this year.

On 24 June from 15:30, Kino Lucerna presents a curated programme beginning with a lecture by Mgr. Lucie Dercsényi, Ph.D. (choreologist, dance critic and publicist) on the life and artistic legacy of Vlastimil Harapes. The lecture is followed by a discussion with his family, colleagues and friends, and a screening of Martin Kubala's documentary - Vlastimil Harapes: Extraordinary Lives.

Kino Lucerna is the oldest continuously operating cinema in the Czech Republic, opened on 3 December 1909 inside the Art Nouveau Lucerna Palace on Vodičkova Street. The Great Hall seats 453 and is equipped with 4K projection and Dolby Surround 7.1. From 1926 the cinema was run by Václav and Miloš Havel; in 1929 it became the first Prague cinema to screen a sound film. Today it hosts Czech and international premieres, festival screenings, and gala events.
