Where My Soul Compiles

Museum Montanelli, Prague

The exhibition Where My Soul Compiles is a joint project of the Venetian Fondazione Donà dalle Rose and Prague's Museum Montanelli (MuMo). It presents works by two international artists — Laura Mega and Daniel Pešta — whose practice enters into a subtle yet intense dialogue with contemporary questions of social and human relevance. The exhibition alternates between paintings and installations. In a series of new watercolours, Daniel Pešta explores — much like in the writings of Sigmund Freud — the concept of sublimation as a psychological defence mechanism that enables survival of seemingly unsolvable life situations. Laura Mega, an artist working primarily with textiles, creates immersive environments in which the materiality of fabric — soft, vulnerable, and layered — serves as a narrative and emotional medium. The exhibition's title emerged from an encounter between ancient spiritual language and the digital term "code compilation" — a technical process that assembles diverse elements into a coherent whole. The exhibition is curated by Dadja Altenburg Kohl and Chiara Modìca Donà dalle Rose. The exhibition runs from 6 May to 22 November 2026 at Museum Montanelli, Nerudova 13, Prague 1.
