The Ugly

Im Yeong-gyu has been blind since birth, but he became a master craftsman who hand-carves the most beautiful seals in the world. One day, he and his son Dong-hwan receive an unexpected call from the police.

The police have discovered skeletal remains of Jung Young-hee - Yeong-gyu's wife and Dong-hwan's mother, who disappeared 40 years ago. The police suggest the possibility that she may have been murdered. Dong-hwan, shaken yet curious about the mother he never knew, sets out to uncover the truth about her death together with Kim Su-jin, a documentary filmmaker who had been filming his father's life story.

During their investigation, they meet people who worked with his mother in a garment factory four decades ago - people whose long-buried memories begin to reveal a hidden truth...
