Prague 6 district is hosting a performance of Antonín Dvořák's opera "The Devil and Kate" on Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at 2 p.m. The event is part of the Prague 6 Day celebrations and marks the revival of the theatre tradition in Šárka.

About: Čert a Káča

Dvořák's 1899 fairy-tale opera in which the sharp-tongued Kate ends up in hell after daring a devil to dance with her at a village party - and the devil quickly regrets it. Three acts packed with polka rhythms, folk comedy and the cunning shepherd Jirka make it a favourite for audiences of all ages.
