After eighteen years, the duo Matmos - Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt - returns to Archa and the Czech Republic, this time at the invitation of the Jednota collective.

Matmos is a pair that can create powerful bangers from the sounds of a washing machine (Ultimate Care I), a microwave, or the hum of a refrigerator. Their work spans from the most experimental electronic music to surprisingly catchy pop-influenced pieces. They have collaborated with artists such as Bjork, Ryoji Ikeda, and Laurie Anderson, and have created soundtracks for films and documentaries. Their live performances are known for their visual component and the way they transform everyday sounds into hypnotic, often danceable electronic music.
