Katta performs on Friday 19 June 2026 at the Piarist Church of the Discovery of the Holy Cross in Litomyšl. The Missa Organi project brings together experimental music with the vocal ensemble Societas Incognitorum and composer Stanislav Abrahám as part of the Smetanova Litomyšl festival. The Baroque church, dating from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries and adorned with valuable frescoes and altarpieces, provides an intimate setting for this musical meditation. Katta will also perform in August in Nové Město na Moravě, making this one of two Czech dates for the project.

About the venue: Piarist Church of the Discovery of the Holy Cross

The baroque Church of the Discovery of the Holy Cross stands on the castle hill in Litomyšl, built between 1714 and 1726 to designs by Giovanni Battista Alliprandi, with František Maxmilián Kaňka completing the work after Alliprandi's death. The church burned down four times over the centuries and after 1968 was used as a storage depot, falling into disrepair until a thorough restoration in 2011-2015 brought it back to life. It now houses the permanent exhibition of sacred art "Angels on the Hill" alongside light installations by Václav Cigler and Michal Motyčka. Concerts, services and wedding ceremonies are held here, and the viewing terrace between the towers offers a panorama of the castle and town.

Led by tenor Eduard Tomaštík, the group has made it its mission to revive forgotten composers tied to the Moravian and Bohemian region, racking up a long list of modern world premieres in the process.

Stanislav Abrahám (born 1977) is a Czech sound artist, musician and educator based in Prague. He specialises in improvising with electronic instruments and building soundscapes through real-time sampling of everyday objects. He works as a sound designer at Czech Radio, and his live sets blend ambient textures with field recordings and acoustic instruments such as stones, fujara or gong.
