80th Anniversary of the Prague Spring Festival
Národní muzeum, Prague
A temporary exhibition in the permanent collection of the Czech Museum of Music (part of the National Museum) commemorates 80 years since the founding of the International Music Festival Prague Spring. The festival was first held in 1946 under the patronage of President Edvard Beneš on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Czech Philharmonic, and has been held annually in Prague ever since. The exhibition is part of the accompanying programme for the 81st Prague Spring Festival, which in 2026 runs from May 12 to June 4 and marks the eightieth anniversary of its establishment. The jubilee festival features over sixty events, including 38 concerts, 19 masterclasses and workshops, and other accompanying events with the participation of 97 artists, chamber ensembles and orchestras from 28 countries around the world.
