The exhibition "The World of Banknotes by Oldřich Kulhánek" at the Visitor Centre of the Czech National Bank in Prague presents a comprehensive view of the work of the renowned Czech painter, graphic designer, and illustrator who created the visual design of contemporary Czech banknotes. The exhibition was organized to mark the sixtieth anniversary of Oldřich Kulhánek's entry into the art scene. The exposition, filled with symbols and carefully considered details, guides visitors through the banknote works of this artist. The exhibition is divided into several sections: the first focuses on Oldřich Kulhánek's artistic personality, the second on his early work from the beginning of the 1970s that was never realized, followed by the 1990s, when he was selected by the State Bank of Czechoslovakia to design new banknotes. The exhibition also includes works created on commission for various clients, such as the graphic work "Alchymia" from 1989, as well as works created based on his experiences with the communist regime. Satirical lithographs "Funny Money" and contemporary banknotes are also featured. As a supplement to the exhibition, an educational video series "Discover the World of Banknotes by Oldřich Kulhánek" has been prepared. Admission to the exhibition is free. The Visitor Centre is open Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00. All exhibitions are wheelchair accessible.
