Afrika Truck at Safari Park Dvůr Králové – African Safari by Josef Vágner

The Afrika Truck is a special vehicle with a trailer for up to 45 passengers that takes visitors through the African Safari of Josef Vágner and the Lion Safari at Safari Park Dvůr Králové. The ride lasts approximately 50 minutes and covers about 5.5 km. The route begins among enclosures of African hoofed animals and predators separated by deep moats, then continues into a small valley of the Netřeby stream, where animals are almost within arm's reach. Visitors drive past antelopes, elk, horses, warthogs, herds of zebras, quaggas, and watusi cattle, and see pelicans, ostriches, and a pair of giraffe bulls. The journey continues to the Lion Safari (600 m), home to African and Barbary lions and lionesses – the only Lion Safari of its kind in the Czech Republic, open since 2015. The ride is accompanied by expert commentary from the guide. Tickets (180 CZK per person) are purchased at the cashier near Kibo Restaurant, which is also the boarding point; some tickets are also available online. A ticket to the walking section of the park is also required. Departures are not fixed – the schedule depends on gradual capacity filling. During the summer season, we recommend purchasing tickets immediately upon arrival in the morning hours. Dogs and other animals are not allowed in the vehicle (dogs can be left in cages at the safari entrance). The Afrika Truck operates daily during the main season (May–September).
