A tribute to legendary jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald takes place on Sunday, 7 June 2026 in Prague. Elena Sonenshine, a master of classical jazz and scat, presents an evening filled with the most celebrated hits and the authentic spirit of jazz's golden age. Prague is one of two Czech cities on this tour; the second performance will be held in July in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. Sonenshine interprets Fitzgerald's legacy with emphasis on scat technique and classical jazz vocals, which defined the career of one of the greatest singers of all time.

About: Elena Sonenshine

Elena Sonenshine is a Czech jazz singer, composer, lyricist and arranger, born in Brno. She trained at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague and later won a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Since 1992 she has been a fixture in Prague's jazz clubs, and from 1996 she has led her own band, Jocose Jazz, playing original compositions alongside jazz arrangements of folk songs. Her debut album You Go to My Head was released in the US and spent four weeks in the American top-50 most-played jazz recordings.
