Avantasia is a German metal superproject founded in 1999 by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of Edguy. The project blends power metal with rock opera elements, featuring guest appearances by prominent vocalists from across the metal world. Albums such as The Metal Opera and Moonglow have brought the project international recognition.

About the venue: Lochotin amphitheater

Lochotín Amphitheatre is an open-air venue north of Plzeň city centre, set partly within Lochotín Park. It was opened in 1961 to designs by architects František Sammer and Stanislav Suda and holds up to 17,000 visitors. Since 1997 it has been part of the Zoological and Botanical Garden of the City of Plzeň, which manages and rents it out. It hosts open-air concerts, festivals, theatre performances, falconry shows and open-air cinema screenings.
