A triple world music concert as part of the Marathon of Music Brno at the club První Patro will present three distinctive personalities of European music inspired by folklore.

Portuguese quartet Danças Ocultas consists of four players on diatonic accordions; their instrumental "impressionist folk" on the album Inspirar draws from folk tradition and chamber music. Italian multi-instrumentalist Stefano Saletti brings his trio Banda Ikona project Mediterranima, inspired by Mediterranean cultures and sung in the Sabir language. Slovak singer Júlia Kozáková will present her Romani songs project Manuša in a chamber trio arrangement — the album Manuša II became the first Slovak recording to reach 1st place on the World Music Charts Europe.

Júlia Kozáková is a Slovak singer specialising in Romani music and world music. Her project Manuša produced the album Manuša II, which became the first Slovak recording ever to reach No. 1 on the World Music Charts Europe. She performs in intimate chamber settings rooted in Romani song tradition.

About: Danças Ocultas

Danças Ocultas is a Portuguese quartet of four diatonic accordion players. The ensemble blends folk tradition with chamber music influences in an instrumental style they describe as "impressionist folk". Their album Inspirar showcases this distinctive approach to world music.

About: Stefano Saletti

Stefano Saletti is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and composer working in world music and Mediterranean folk traditions. With his project Banda Ikona he explores the musical cultures of the Mediterranean, singing in sabir — a historical pidgin of Mediterranean traders. His project Mediterranima blends Arabic, Greek, Turkish and Italian musical influences.

About the venue: First Floor

První Patro is a music club and cultural venue in the heart of Brno, occupying the first floor of the historic Poupě brewery building in the former Dominik Hall. Following a full renovation, the space has retained its functionalist character. It hosts concerts, theatre performances, cabarets, balls, DJ nights, and conferences. The venue holds up to 800 guests standing or 400 in conference seating.
