About the venue: Dolní Vítkovice

Dolní Vítkovice is a national cultural monument and the first Czech site listed as a European Cultural Heritage Site (2008). The former Vítkovice ironworks complex — comprising the Hlubina coal mine, coking plant and blast furnaces — operated from 1828 until 1998. Today it serves as an educational, cultural and social centre featuring the Gong multifunctional concert hall, the Bolt Tower lookout and the Science and Technology Centre. The annual Colours of Ostrava festival takes place here.
