The Actress

One of the most successful films from the penultimate year of East Germany's existence. The story of two actors: a German woman during the Nazi era who poses as a Jew to help her Jewish colleague, whom she loves. The lead actress and cinematographer Peter Ziesche won awards for their performances at the final East German film festival, held after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
