The Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU) is the oldest art school in the Czech Republic, founded by imperial decree in 1799. As a public university, it offers master's and doctoral programmes in painting, sculpture, printmaking, intermedia, new media, restoration and architecture, with teaching based on individual studio work.
