About the venue: Kino Atlas

Kino Atlas is a two-hall art-house cinema in Prague 8 – Karlín, housed in the basement of a functionalist building of the former Atlas bank house from 1942, designed by architects Stalmach and Svoboda, students of Josef Gočár. The programme covers art-house films, documentaries, mainstream releases, and festivals such as Jeden svět and Ozvěny MFF KV. The venue also includes the Karel Vachek Gallery and the Atlas of Plants Café, which hosts concerts, readings, and discussions. The cinema is a member of the Europa Cinemas network.

About: Viliam Poltikovič

A Czech documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, photographer and writer, Viliam Poltikovič was born on 28 February 1958 in Znojmo. Following his graduation from FAMU's documentary department in 1984, he has worked as an independent creator, producing over 170 films predominantly for Czech Television. His work concentrates on documentaries of spiritual, philosophical and ethnographic focus, with his films presented at festivals in Cannes, Moscow, Berlin, Vienna and Barcelona.
