The Plzeň Zoo celebrates its 100th anniversary. The celebration will take place at the Lochotín amphitheatre.

About the venue: Lochotín Amphitheatre

An open-air amphitheatre north of Plzeň city centre, built between 1951 and 1961 on the grounds of the former Kodetova garden as part of a civic improvement initiative. Designed by architects František Sammer and Stanislav Suda, it opened in 1961 and seats up to 17,000 spectators. Since 1997 it has been part of the Plzeň Zoo and Botanical Garden. It hosts concerts, theatre performances, open-air cinema screenings and major festivals. A major renovation was completed in 2014–2015.
