Pavel Forman (born 1977 in Bruntál) is a painter, poet, and educator, a graduate of Berlin's Universität der Künste and the Faculty of Education at Palacký University in Olomouc. He currently teaches painting at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ostrava. His work is characterized by visual richness and sophisticated color intensity; his technique is oil on canvas, and he also uses charcoal drawing. He is unafraid to depict iconic figures of 20th-century Czech society – for example, T. G. Masaryk, Karel Gott, or Hurvínek. The central theme of the Brno exhibition is metamorphosis and transformation: Forman explores the inner changes of human beings and shows how a person becomes the animal that each of us carries within. The pair of Spejbl and Hurvínek in Nazi uniforms drew the most attention at the opening. The exhibition at Galerie Graciano at Veselá 39 in Brno runs from April 10 to May 29, 2026. The gallery is open every weekday from 10:00 to 18:30. Works are also available for sale.
