Railway Station Virtually – Virtual tour of the new Brno main station
Veletrhy Brno, a. s., Brno
free entry, nutná rezervace
The virtual tour presents a realistic 1:1 scale model of the new Brno main railway station, created by Virtuplex in collaboration with the Czech Railways Administration, the City of Brno, and Dutch architects Benthem Crouwel Architects and WEST 8. Visitors put on virtual reality glasses and walk through the forecourt, entrance hall, passage, train platforms, bus terminal, the area behind the station, and a flood-protection park by the Svratka River.
The tour consists of approximately twelve scenes and lasts 40–50 minutes. Participants hear a guide's commentary and can communicate with each other via headset. Tours run every hour from 8 to 15 o'clock on Wednesdays and Thursdays in pavilion H at the Brno exhibition grounds. Maximum capacity is 8 people per tour.
Entry is free; advance booking is required on the website nadrazi.bkom.cz. It is recommended to arrive 10 minutes before the start; cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. The new station, whose construction is to begin in 2028, will have 7 platforms and 16 tracks; the first train is expected to arrive in 2035.
