Večerníček 60 Years – A Fairy-Tale Exhibition in Brno

Česká televize ve spolupráci s Výstaviště Brno, Brno

Following the huge success of the Prague exhibition celebrating Večerníček's 60th birthday, which attracted over 100,000 visitors, the exhibition has now come to Brno. Czech Television in collaboration with Brno Exhibitions has prepared the exhibition in Hall H of Brno Exhibition Grounds, open from 13 February to 17 May 2026 (closed 1 May and 8 May) daily from 9 to 17 o'clock. Due to strong public interest, the original closing date was extended from late April to 17 May 2026. The exhibition features 48 fairy tales and explores the phenomenon of Czech animation – from classics such as Jiří Trnka, Břetislav Pojar and Jan Švankmajer to contemporary creators. Visitors will see original sets, illustrations, puppets, drawings and photographs never before displayed. The exhibition offers numerous interactive elements: the chance to perform puppet theatre with Hurvínek characters, try dubbing, explore the log cabin from Mech and Kapradí, or assemble the iconic paper-hat from newspaper. Tickets are sold in two-hour time slots; the tour itself typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. The exhibition is designed for families with children, schools and kindergartens, those who remember the era, and fans of animation and Czech television production. Prams are not allowed in the exhibition spaces; a designated storage area is provided for them; wheelchairs are permitted.
