Political Videos and Reels: Content for People and Algorithms

Political Videos and Reels: Content for People and Algorithms is a practical workshop focused on creating short videos for the 2026 municipal elections. It takes place on Monday, May 30, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM (arrival ideally between 3:50 PM and 3:59 PM, with a break of approximately 20 minutes during the event). Capacity is limited to 6 participants.

The workshop is designed for municipal politicians, their assistants, PR professionals, and members of media and volunteer teams – in short, for anyone who wants to create effective video content on a small budget. Level: beginners and intermediate.

The program includes six blocks: introduction to political communication in 2026 and the most common mistakes on social media; creating a 30-day content plan and working with target audiences; practical filming of Reels and Shorts (hooks, video types, scripts, voiceover, gestures, environment); filming technique – each participant will shoot their own 10–20 second reel; editing and post-production in CapCut and other tools including AI; and finally publication, working with algorithms, and basics of community management.

What to bring: a smartphone with a charged battery and charger (or a laptop if you edit on it), the CapCut app installed (free version) or another app you already use, and one idea or topic for a practice video.

Instructor: Kateřina Michálková – marketing consultant and content strategist specializing in social media and video content. She has worked in marketing for nearly 10 years, in political marketing since 2023. She contributed to the personal brand and campaigns of Vendula Svobodová and Ondřej Haváč for the parliamentary elections and collaborates with Senator Adéla Šípová.
