A comic adaptation of ancient tragedies that is not merely a parody of classical dramas such as Oedipus Rex, Electra, or Antigone, but also a sarcastic critique of contemporary society, acting careers, and modern values. Three of antiquity's most celebrated heroes — Antigone, Oedipus, and Electra — take the stage, liberated from their authors' grasp, each with a suitcase and backpack full of props, ready to present their story as compellingly as possible and outdo the competition. After all, the strongest story sells best — and theatre salaries today depend mainly on the number of likes on social media.
Director Šimon Spišák deliberately works with the archetypal characters of ancient tragedies and, alongside theatrical exaggeration, opens space for socio-psychological depth, such as the Oedipus complex. The production asks: why do people (not) go to the theatre today, and what do they actually expect from it?
