Theatre Na Vinohradech, Prague

A stage adaptation of the film script "Ucho", prepared by the author's daughter, writer Lenka Procházková, drawn directly from the film's plot.

The story takes place in the 1960s in a villa confiscated from its original owners, where the regime housed its cadre supporters. After a presidential reception where vague hints of impending power changes are heard, an ambitious married couple of parvenus endures a terrible night of truth. The more relative power they have, the more fear — and the more both try to hide the truth from the omnipresent secret police "ear", the more the truth about their relationship, their characters, and the legitimacy of the entire regime is revealed.

The author prescribes smoking on stage in the play, and the production respects his intention. The production features expressive language.
