Švestka

Švestka, subtitled "A Theatrical Sclerosis," is the thirteenth play in the repertoire of the Járy Cimrman Theatre.

The play explores how mature age leaves its mark on the human soul, speech, and intellectual potential. The dialogues are not as dense as we have come to expect from Cimrman — they are scattered, often abandoning the narrative thread and forming blind lagoons from which there is no return. The jokes, too, have lost the sharpness they had in youth.
