The evening programme features three works: the world premiere of a new composition by Milada Cervenková for the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor op. 26, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in B minor op. 74 "Pathétique".

About the venue: Reduta

The Reduta on Horní náměstí (Upper Square) in Olomouc is the home venue of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, one of the oldest symphony orchestras in the Czech Republic (founded 1945). The hall was opened in 1831 as part of the Empire-style theatre building and originally served as a ballroom. A major reconstruction in 2001 modernised the acoustics and increased seating to 500. The upper floor houses the Mozart Hall, which serves as a foyer anteroom.

About: Milada Červenková

Milada Červenková (born 1947 in Třebíč) is a Czech composer, violinist and pianist. She studied at the Brno Conservatory and spent her performing career in the Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc, eventually leading the second violin section. She later studied composition under Milan Báchorek in Ostrava; her output centres on instrumental chamber music - several pieces were recorded by Czech Radio - alongside orchestral works such as the Passacaglia for large orchestra.

About: Yoon-Hee Kim

Yoon-Hee Kim is an Austrian-Korean violinist who started playing at three and at four became the youngest student ever admitted to the preparatory program of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She graduated at nineteen as its youngest alumna - CNN called her a violin prodigy. Her prizes include First Prize at the Andrea Postacchini International Competition and a scholarship from the Herbert von Karajan Foundation.

Leoš Svárovský is a Czech conductor and chief conductor of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc. He collaborates with numerous Czech and international orchestras and is also active as an opera director. His repertoire spans from Baroque music to contemporary compositions.
