Top Gun: Maverick

Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) pilots fighter jets with such passion that for over thirty years he has successfully resisted promotion in the U.S. Air Force – a higher rank would move him from the cockpit to a desk. Nevertheless, he receives an offer to become an instructor for elite fighter pilots from the Top Gun program, tasked with preparing them for an operation classified as Mission Impossible.

Among the pilots he must train is Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller) – the son of Maverick's friend and navigator Goose, who died in a failed ejection from an uncontrollable fighter jet piloted by Maverick himself. Bradshaw blames Maverick for his father's death. Maverick is desperate to prevent Bradley from meeting the same fate – and at the same time realizes that the probability of at least one pilot not surviving the planned operation is far from negligible.
