Discover the Market Hall: Guided Tour of the Former Slaughterhouse

Holešovická tržnice was built as the Central Slaughterhouse of the Royal Capital of Prague in 1895. In 1993 it was declared a cultural monument and is part of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

A guided tour led by historian Kristian Mejstřík will take participants through the industrial architecture of the entire complex. They will learn how the slaughterhouse was constructed and how the slaughtering operations functioned, including the technological facilities and former cattle stables. The tour will also reveal the stories behind individual buildings and the symbolism of the sculptures of figures with bulls at the entrance on Bubenské nábřeží.
