Porta Bohemica: Wine Tasting
Winehub Mánesovka, Prague
Porta Bohemica is a natural winery from Velké Žernoseky, founded in 2010, specializing in dry naturally fermented wines from the Bohemian Uplands. The grapes come from vineyards on volcanic and opukovite soils in a specific microclimate above the Elbe River.
The winery works entirely by hand — grapes are hand-harvested, crushed or trampled, the must sits for several days on the skins, and the juice ferments spontaneously. Over winter, the wine matures without further intervention in the cellar, including in oak barrels and qvevri. The main varieties are Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, and Pinot Noir, supplemented by Early Red Veltliner, Green Veltliner, Chardonnay, Red Traminer, and St. Laurent.
The tasting will feature eight samples:
* RYÓ 2024
* RR 2024
* MT 2025
* MT2023 SUD
* TRAMIN QVEVRI 2025
* PIROS 2025
* PN 2024
* EASY ST. LAURENT QVEVRI 2025
The tasting will be led by Aleš Svatoš from Porta Bohemica.
