Girlfriends

A theatrical adaptation of Eva Kantůrková's autobiographical book about her imprisonment in Ruzyně prison during the communist regime. Kantůrková was detained under the notorious Article 98 for alleged subversion of the republic. During her year-long stay, she encountered numerous "girlfriends" - fellow inmates whose personal stories she witnessed and shared. The production explores how suffering and humiliation create bonds between people, revealing that those caught in wrongdoing are often simply sad - and that sadness becomes the tie that binds.
